Résumé

I am a recent First Class Honors graduate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Nairobi, driven by a deep conviction that technology can—and should—serve sustainable development in the World. My undergraduate work sits at the intersection of renewable energy, space technology, IoT and embedded systems. I recently conducted research at CentraleSupélec (Université Paris-Saclay) on Model Predictive Control for photovoltaic-powered smart irrigation systems, targeting water- and energy-efficient solutions for rural Africa. One central insight from this work—reinforced by existing literature—is the importance of understanding aquifer conditions in water extraction. Excessive pumping can be harmful to both the pump and the well. I took additional courses in Climate and controversies, French Language and Machine Learning.

For my final-year project at the University of Nairobi, I contributed to an AFRETEC team developing an AI-powered, humane bird-repellent system for rice farms. I designed and tested the Actuator PCB. Previously, I led the Electrical Power Subsystem Team in designing the EPS PCB for the Tafiti 3U CubeSat project, sponsored by the Kenya Space Agency.

Beyond technical work, I am deeply committed to community impact and service in engineering. I have served as the first IEEE MTT-S UoN Publicity Lead and Webmaster, IEEE MTT-S Region 8 Student Ambassador, Co-Lead Ambassador and Publicity Volunteer for IEEE IMAS 2025, Vice Chairperson of the Society of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (SEES), a member of the Engineering Students' Association publicity team, and a member of the Kenya Space Society.

International exposure has been transformative. I was one of 5 Kenyans competitively selected to participate in Huawei Seeds for the Future 2025 in Shenzhen, China (with focus on 5G, AI, Cloud, and Digital Power), the Sakura Science Program in Japan (remote sensing and nanosatellite development), and the academic exchange in CentraleSupélec, France.

I was recognized as Best Third-Year Male Student (2022/23) and Second-Best Fourth-Year Student (2023/24) in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Nairobi.
